I’m back home. Toronto was hot. Like, really hot. I grew up in the Mojave Desert region of California where in the summer, the mercury often threatens to punch through the top of the thermometer around 110 degrees Fahrenheit. But it’s typically, as we say, a dry heat.
Not so this previous week. I’m just glad I packed enough clothes so I could change out of the sweat-logged ones I generated from walking a few blocks. I also never thought a Southern California boy would get a tan in Toronto, Canada, but alas it proved possible. As much as you look forward to visiting this blog and reading what I have to say about weather conditions, I’ll end this digression here.
It has been a very busy couple of weeks with my day job and I’m still plugging away at it. Suffice it to say, my desire to write has been… meh. It’s not that I haven’t tried. I still forced myself to do a few exercises from the Nancy Kress book but my own creative writing has been limited to a few sentences a day. By the time I get home, I’m just feeling wiped out and not creative whatsoever.
Any tips for getting back into the groove?
